Funding Talent Edge

The Funding Talent Edge program is a unique opportunity for you to earn real cash rewards as you develop your trading “Edge”. This evaluation free program allows you to get started right away and earn cash daily as you build your simulated account balance.

Please note that the Edge program is launching in Beta mode, and is subject to change as we plan to add incredible program features and improvements over the next few months.

Here’s Why You’ll Love It!

No Evaluation or Targets

We know that evaluations add pressure. We want our members to develop their strategies without the added stress of meeting unrealistic targets. On the Edge model, you can take your time to build the account balance and reach your personal goals.

Daily Payout Options

With our payout block system, you can get paid as often as every day depending on your performance. There is no added pressure of set “payout dates” on this model, so you can take all the time you need to progress.

Risk Free Learning Incentive

Funding Talent’s unique business model allows you to earn cash while learning in a completely safe environment. This type of program will keep you motivated to keep developing your skills, without the risk of losing a large deposit or investment.

Max Daily Loss

Teaching risk management is of the utmost importance.

You will have an allowed max daily loss of 5% and an allowed max overall loss of 10%. These are calculated based on the original demo account balance and are fixed. They do not change day to day.

When calculating max loss, we include all open positions.

This means that if you are on a 100K account with a 5% daily max loss, your daily max loss will start at $5K every day at 12:00am in the time zone of the Funding Talent server. If you increase the demo account balance to 105K in a single day, your daily max loss for that specific day will be increased to $10K. Once we reach 12:00am in the time zone of the server, this will reset back to $5K regardless of account balance.

Please note that in the example above, all examples using dollar values refer to fictitious funds.

Any positions open that are “in the red” aka open in a loss and are held over the change of day in the time zone of the Funding Talent server will be carried into the next day.

If either your daily max loss limit or overall max loss limit is exceeded, your account will become inactive and your playing month will end.

Max Overall Loss

The max overall loss refers to the lowest value your demo account balance can hit at any point in time. It includes open/floating positions. On a $100K account for example, your max overall loss is $10K from the original demo account balance. This means your demo account balance can never run below $90K at any point in time. Open positions are included when looking at the max overall loss value.

Payout Structure

Edge members can earn 25% of the simulated profits made on the account.

Payouts can be requested in the following “block” format

  • $1250 per $25K account
  • $5K per $100K account

Examples

  • 25K Account – You must accumulate $1250 in simulated profits in order to request a payout. You cannot request a payout until the $1250 in simulated profits are made. Anything over $1250 gets added to the next day’s balance. For example if you accumulate $2500 in simulated profits on a $25K account, you can request a payout on the $1250 and the remaining $1250 will be added to the next day’s balance. The following day you would begin the day with a balance of $26,250.00. In this example, the payout amount would be 25% of the $1250 which equals $312.50.
  • 100K Account – You must accumulate $5k in simulated profits on a $100K account in order to request a payout. You cannot request a payout until the $5K in simulated profits are made. Anything over $5K gets added to the next day’s account balance. For example if you accumulate $7K in simulated profits on a $100K account, you can request a payout on the 5K and the remaining 2K will be added to the next day’s balance. The following day you would begin the day with a balance of $102K. In this example, the payout amount would be 25% of $5K which equals $1250.

Max Rewards

Maximum rewards are put in place to set realistic expectations and discourage gambling mentality.

25K Account – Maximum payouts of $312.50 per day and or $3750 per month

This means that you may receive payouts of $312.50 each day upon request.

For members who would like to use the account for a longer period of time, any amount that exceeds the $312.50 per day can be requested 30 days after the first position entered on the account in one lump sum.

For example, let’s say you request $312.50 per day for eight days of the month that would equal $2500. If you still had $4000 in the demo account, you could request a payout in a lump sum once you have been using the account for 30 days. 25% of $4000 is $1000. Although $1000 exceeds the daily payout maximum, it does not cause you to exceed the monthly maximum of $3750 as your total monthly payouts would in this case equal $3500.

100K Account – Maximum payouts of $1250 per day or $15K per month

This means that you may receive payouts of $1250 each day upon request.

For members who would like to use the account for a longer period of time, any amount that exceeds the $1250 per day can be requested 30 days after the first position entered on the account in one lump sum.

For example, let’s say you request $1250 per day for eight days of the month that would equal $10K. If you still had $16K in the demo account, you could request a payout in a lump sum once you have been using the account for 30 days. 25% of $16K is $4K. Although $4K exceeds the daily payout maximum, it does not cause you to exceed the monthly maximum of $15K as your total monthly payouts would in this case equal $14K.

EAs and Trade Copiers

General Rule of Thumb

Edge is meant to help you learn while also rewarding you. We want our traders to learn risk management and skill build on their own, without depending on an EA’s or trade copiers.

Strategies and Behaviours

Consistency

Note: Any use of the word “risk” below is a teaching term. No members of Funding Talent ever hold real risk, as all trading within our game is simulated.

As the Edge program is in beta, members can expect upgrades to this section upon official launch.

Please use the following guidelines to ensure you are using consistent risk management throughout your playing period. If the static consistency rules are violated, you will be ineligible for a payout.

Daily Payout Requests

Should a member wish to request a payout after one playing day, a minimum of five positions should be opened. This is so we can monitor the consistency objective. All payout requests should be in by 12PM EST. Any requests made after this time will be paid out the next day. This could cause delays in payout and obtaining new account details, so it is not advised to request after 12PM EST.

Lot Size

Maximum position size should be no more than double the lowest position size (i.e., 2-4, 4-8, or 6-12 lots are all acceptable). Should this rule be violated, a reset fee will need to be paid in order to continue playing as this is a static metric. You will receive new account details with the original starting balance once the reset fee is paid.

Different Asset Classes

The lot size consistency rule applies only to the particular instrument you are trading. For example, if you are using Forex pairs, we look at the consistency in lot sizes for those specific Forex pairs/positions. If you are using Indices, we look at the consistency in lot sizes for those specific indices/positions. The asset classes we allow are: Forex, metals (includes oil), crypto and indices.

Number of Positions

Upon payout request, we will review the maximum number of positions you entered in one day and the lowest number of positions entered in one day. The difference between these values, maximum positions in one day and lowest in one day, should not change by more than 25%. Because number of positions have to be measured in full, we will always round up if the 25% results in a decimal. Here are some examples. If you enter 8 positions one day you should not enter less than 2 positions on your lowest playing day.

If you take 10 positions on one particular playing day, the 25% calculation would result in a decimal of 2.5. As you cannot enter 2.5 positions, we will round up and you should not enter less than 3 positions. Should this rule be violated, a reset fee will need to be paid in order to continue playing as this is a static metric. You will receive new account details with the original starting balance once the reset fee is paid.

Edge members can hold their trades for as long as they wish, there is no limit on maximum trade duration.

Pacing Objective – Daily

For the purpose of this objective, we view a variable metric that we call your MARK.

Your MARK is a metric that changes as your balance grows or decreases from playing. Your MARK = 25% of your overall account profits. If your account is $100 in profit, your MARK is $25. If your account is $1000 in profit, your MARK is $250.

Your MARK can always be increased by building your account balance (or decreased if your account balance goes down).

At the end of each playing day, we will look at all of your closed positions.

There are two variables we consider for the Daily Pacing objective.

  1.  One of your closed positions cannot result in a simulated profit amount that is greater than your current MARK.

Let’s look at an example. If your overall account profit is $100, your current MARK would be $25. If you close a position in $50 profit, the objective would not be met as it is larger than your current MARK. You will need to continue increasing your MARK in order to become eligible for payout. This is meant to be challenging while still remaining achievable, as the goal is to teach consistency and discipline.
  2.  Additionally, we will look at any trades that were closed within 15 minutes of one another.

You can close out your positions at any time, but if any positions closed within 15 minutes of one another result in profits that exceed your current MARK you will not have met the objective.

When looking at positions closed within 15 minutes of one another we will also consider losses, to remain fair and keep this objective realistic.

    Let’s look at another example.

In this scenario, you have a current MARK of $5000. You closed three positions within 15 minutes of one another. One trade with a profit of $3000, one trade with a profit of $8000, and one trade with a loss of $1000. The three trades resulted in a net “profit” of $10K. The Daily Pacing Objective will not be met at that time as the positions closed within 15 minutes of one another resulted in a “profit” that exceeded your current MARK.

It is important to note that this is not a static metric or rule, but an objective that the member should work towards in order to receive a payout. Your MARK can increase or decrease as you continue to use the account. You can always work to meet the Daily Pacing Objective by building your account balance and therefore increasing your MARK.

Pacing Objective – Overall

No more than 50% of simulated profits should be made in one playing day. At Funding Talent, a new playing day begins at 12AM of the timezone associated with the Funding Talent server (UTC+3). For example, should you make $100 in simulated profit no more than $50 should be made in one playing day. This only affects those trading for more than one day. It is important to note that this objective can always be met by continuing to play and earning more simulated profits. It is not a static metric.

Lottery Mentality

There is no gambling type of behaviour permitted in this program. Funding Talent is designed to help members refine their strategies while also being rewarded for being successful. Our main objective is to teach great risk management and discipline. If we notice any large increases in lot sizes or other changes that result in substantial risk we reserve the right to suspend payout. This only applies to members taking excessive risk and displaying behaviour that does not line up with the rest of their simulated trades.

Please see the above rule regarding consistency for further explanation.

Prohibited Strategies

Unfortunately, demo accounts can often achieve much better quotes (upon executing) and smaller or no slippages compared to live market conditions. Therefore, micro scalping techniques are prohibited on all Funding Talent accounts. It is not possible to scalp highly volatile sessions with almost no risk on a live account. Our goal is to teach traders how to be successful and therefore abusing the demo account environment is not in line with our objectives.

If you are a news trader or scalper, please understand that our company will also not tolerate any abuse of stop orders either to enter or exit a position. Scalping news releases on a live account by a “straddling method” incurs slippages, latency and liquidity issues. We want our members to learn successful techniques, not strategies designed to “cheat the system”.

Any strategy or technique used to deliberately exploit the demo account conditions will be denied as per our terms of service.

Please see the above rule regarding consistency for further explanation.

Account Sizes

General Rule of Thumb

Members can choose an account size of $25K to $100K on the Edge accounts. Members may have up to 3 $100K accounts.

FAQ

What happens after I sign up?

Once you sign up for the Edge program you will receive an email within 24 hours with all of the information you need to get started. It is extremely important you read this email and pay close attention to each section to ensure the process is as smooth as possible.

Will I get live capital?

No. Funding Talent is not a broker or financial entity. We do not accept deposits, nor do any members ever receive access to real funds within any of our programs. Funding Talent is a unique educational platform where traders can earn real cash while testing their strategies in a completely simulated environment.

Why would I choose Edge?

The goal of the Edge program is to allow members to develop their strategies and learn. For this reason, there is absolutely no risk to you as a trader and we are able to offer many perks and advantages that aren’t available to you in the real world.

Why can’t I use EA’s or trade copiers?

Edge is meant to help you learn while also rewarding you. We want our traders to learn risk management and skill build on their own, without depending on an EA’s or trade copiers.

Why are there caps on how much I can make?

The focus of Edge is to reward skill and risk management, while also helping build discipline. The caps we have in place are equivalent to 60% of the demo account balance per month. The reality is that most profitable retail traders in the real world could never exceed those caps consistently without gambling, and if they could they would not need to use our program.

Additionally, what you choose to do with your payouts is up to you! Most traders who could consistently do those types of returns would be happy to place those funds in a regulated broker. We are not a broker, and therefore we feel this is quite reasonable.

What is the leverage on the accounts?

As our goal with Edge is to entice learning and not gambling, we are keeping the leverage at a very reasonable 1:25.

Can I trade news?

Edge members are welcome to trade news.

Is there a challenge I need to pass?

No, this model does not require an evaluation or challenge. Our program’s goal is to promote learning, therefore there would be no need to evaluate you.

How do I get paid?

We issue payouts via a platform called Deel. Deel allows you to get paid via wire transfer, PayPal and or crypto.
