OFFICIAL RULES AND GUIDELINES

Welcome to the rules & guidelines section of our website.

Please be sure you have a read through all of the rules to ensure the program you select is a good fit for you. Before getting into the rules, we want to ensure you know that our guidelines are here to ensure this experience helps you develop and further your strategy.

Flex Classic Model

Understanding the rules that apply to Flex Classic accounts.

Number of Playing Days

Playing days refer to days in which you enter positions on the demo account.

You must enter at least one position per day for 12 days out of each month. For example, from January 1st – 31st, you must enter a new position on at least 12 separate days. Playing days do not need to be consecutive and there is no maximum number of positions, as long as you do not exceed your risk. If the 12 day minimum is not met you will not be issued a payout at the end of your playing cycle and your demo account will also be reset to the starting balance. Your demo account will not be reset to the starting balance if no simulated profits were made by the end of the playing cycle. Only executed positions count towards your playing days.

From Sunday to Friday, members should place at least one position on 3 separate playing days. For example, you could place a simulated trade on Monday, Thursday and Friday. You can choose whichever days that best suit you.

For the purpose of our program, a new playing day begins at 12am of the timezone associated with the Funding Talent server. If you sign up midweek, you do not need to enter 3 positions that particular week. This rule only applies on full weeks that you are enrolled with us.

Max Loss Parameters

Teaching risk management is of the utmost importance.

You will have an allowed max daily loss of 5% and an allowed max overall loss of 10%. These are calculated based on the original demo account balance and are fixed. They do not change day to day.

When calculating max daily loss, we include all open positions.

This means that if you are on a Flex Classic 100K account with a 5% daily max loss, your daily max loss will start at $5K every day at 12:00am in the time zone of the Funding Talent server. If you increase the demo account balance to 105K in a single day, your daily max loss for that specific day will be increased to $10K. Once we reach 12:00am in the time zone of the server, this will reset back to $5K regardless of account balance.

Please note that in the example above, all examples using dollar values refer to fictitious funds.

Any positions open that are “in the red” aka open in a loss and are held over the change of day in the time zone of the Funding Talent server will be carried into the next day.

The max overall loss refers to the lowest value your demo account balance can hit at any point in time. It includes open/floating positions. On a $100K account for example, your max overall loss is $10K from the original demo account balance. This means your demo account balance can never run below $90K at any point in time. Open positions are included when looking at the max overall loss value.

Below is a table of the available account sizes and their corresponding max daily losses and overall max loss parameters.

If either your daily max loss limit or overall max loss limit is exceeded, your account will become inactive and your playing month will end. You will still be eligible for the leaderboard for your respective block.

Any violation of the max loss parameters on the Elite account will result in ineligibility for further payouts.

Consistency

Note: Any use of the word “risk” below is a teaching term. No members of Funding Talent ever hold real risk, as all trading within our game is simulated.

Please use the following guidelines to ensure you are using consistent risk management throughout your playing period. Should you play within these parameters, you will not receive a flag or violation of the consistency rule. Should you play outside of these set parameters, we will not automatically deny your payout but it will be sent to our Risk Manager to manually review. If members are outside of these parameters but still appear to be trading consistently with skill the payout will still be approved. One of our Risk Managers may reach out to have a conversation regarding your risk and determine if the payout can be authorized.

We calculate your risk per position by considering your stop loss. We do this so we do not have to limit lot size, because we know that lot size can change depending on your stop loss. Members do not have to use a stop loss, but if a stop loss will not be used we can only gauge your risk using lot size.

Risk Per Position

Risk per position should not change by more than 20%.

Risk Per Day

Risk per day should not change by more than 20%.

Length of Position Duration

There is no limit to how long you can hold your position.

Number of Positions

Number of positions per day should not change by more than 20%. This is not applicable to those taking less than 3 positions.

Exposure (Max Loss Per Position, Only for Members Using No Stop Loss)

Your max loss per position should not change by more than 20%.

Lot Size

Maximum position size should be no more than double the lowest position size (i.e., 2-4, 4-8, or 6-12 lots are all acceptable).

Trading Behaviour

There is no gambling type of behaviour permitted in this program. Funding Talent is designed to help members refine their strategies while also being rewarded for being successful. Our main objective is to teach great risk management and discipline. If we notice any large increases in lot sizes or other changes that result in substantial risk we reserve the right to suspend payout. This only applies to members taking excessive risk and displaying behaviour that does not line up with the rest of their simulated trades.

Please see the above rule regarding consistency for further explanation.

Trading Styles

All use of the word trading below refers only to the simulated trading that occurs while playing our game.

To be clear, you are allowed to use a mixture of scalping trades, swing trades, etc. as long as you are consistently doing so. There are no rules on trading styles, as long as you are trading according to live market conditions. The above reference to drastic changes in lot sizes refers to major discrepancies in lot size, risk percentage and duration of trades.

Talent Bonus (Payout)

You can be eligible for two Talent Bonus payouts per month when using a Flex Classic account. Talent Bonuses are what we call payouts here at Funding Talent. Your first Talent Bonus date is 14 days from the start of your playing month and your second Talent Bonus date is at the end of your playing month (28 days from your playing month start date). We consider your first playing day your sign up date, even if you do not enter a position on that day.

Talent Bonuses for Flex Classic accounts are 10% of the simulated profits that were made on the account. As an example, if you were trading a 100k account and finished your playing month with 110k, your Talent Bonus would be $1000.

All positions must be closed by 23:59:59 on the day prior to your Talent Bonus date (using the Funding Talent server’s timezone) in order to receive your Talent Bonus. Our team will contact you on your Talent Bonus date if you’re eligible for your Talent Bonus.

You may continue using your demo account and receiving your Talent Bonus, even once you’ve accessed your Elite account.

Flex Classic Elite Account (Payout Structure & Server)

The Flex Classic Elite account offers a 90% payout on the first 10% of simulated profit generated on the account. An 80% payout will be applied to any simulated profit past this point. All Funding Talent Elite accounts will be set up with the Funding Talent Demo server.

Prohibited Trading Styles

Unfortunately, demo accounts can often achieve much better quotes (upon executing) and smaller or no slippages compared to live market conditions. Therefore, micro scalping techniques are prohibited on all Funding Talent accounts. It is not possible to scalp highly volatile sessions with almost no risk on a live account. Our goal is to teach traders how to be successful and therefore abusing the demo account environment is not in line with our objectives.

If you are a news trader or scalper, please understand that our company will also not tolerate any abuse of stop orders either to enter or exit a position. Scalping news releases on a live account by a “straddling method” incurs slippages, latency and liquidity issues. We want our members to learn successful techniques, not strategies designed to “cheat the system”.

Any strategy or technique used to deliberately exploit the demo account conditions will be denied as per our terms of service.

Available Instruments

You are allowed to open positions on forex pairs, indices, metals, oil, and cryptocurrencies. Please do not use any products outside of this list. If you do use instruments outside of this list, your account will not be eligible to receive a payout.

Losses

As this is a simulated account, you are not responsible (nor is there a penalty) for any losses.

Login Details

Please allow up to 24 hours for your demo account details to be sent. You are not to change your login details on your account for any reason. Should you change your password or any other details, it will result in immediate termination of your account.

If you would like to delay your start date for any reason, send an email to our support staff and we will accommodate you.

Adding Simulated Funds

You may not, at any point in time, update your demo account balance. This will not be tolerated under any circumstance. This will be flagged and your account with us will be suspended.

EAs & Bots

Funding Talents objective is to teach members that will help them in the real world. For this reason, Funding Talent restricts the usage of Expert Advisors (EA) and trade copying software. If a member does intend to use an EA/bot, it must be based on the members own strategy or copy trades from the members own account, and no other. When using trade copying software, the Funding Talent account must also be the master account. Otherwise, using EAs or bots will result in account suspension.

Members are only permitted to use expert advisors or bots on the demo account if:

1.) The EA does not copy another member’s strategy. This is to ensure you are learning and developing your own skills. We monitor at all times for this.

2.) The EA must execute positions according to live market conditions.

3.) The EA was developed to help with risk management, trade placement, or created based on one’s own strategy.

Members must also practice according to real market conditions. Any positions opened that take advantage of demo account conditions using trade arbitrage or other disallowed practices are prohibited. You can read more about real market conditions here.

Funded Earnings

Funded Earnings are credits used to access your Elite account. Your Elite account can be viewed as a second level when playing our game. The purpose of building your Elite account is to teach you risk management and give you additional way to earn cash rewards!

Funded Earnings are a store of simulated funds that build up after each playing month using the simulated profit that was made on the demo account during that period. You can contribute up to 5% of your simulated profit to your Elite account at the end of each playing month. The amount that will be contributed to your Funded Earnings is calculated using the balance of your demo account at 23:59:59 of the day prior to the Talent Bonus 2 date (end of your playing month).

Once your Funded Earnings have accumulated to the required level, you will have the option to access your Elite account. The required amount of Funded Earnings needed to access your Elite account varies with the size of the demo account that you are playing with.

The table below outlines the required amount of Funded Earnings needed to access your Elite account when trading a Flex Classic account.

If you happen to violate a max loss rule while using your Flex Classic account, your Funded Earnings will remain the same and will not reset to zero.

Please note all positions must be closed by 23:59:59 on the day prior to your Talent Bonus 2 date according to the Funding Talent server’s timezone.

Elite Account Payouts

You are eligible to request your Elite payout 30 days after you have placed the first trade on your demo account. For example, if you open a position on January 1st, your Elite payout date would be February 1st. If you do not request your payout within 24 hours of your Elite payout date, you would need to wait an additional 30 days to make your payout request. For example, if you place your first trade on January 1st and you opt not to make a payout request within 24 hours of February 1st, your next payout date would be March 1st.

Please send us an email at [email protected] within 24 hours of your payout date to make your payout request. Your request should include your full legal name, country, and Elite account number. For example, if your Elite payout date is on January 2nd, you could send us an email on January 1st, January 2nd, or January 3rd.

All simulated trades must be closed at the time you make your payout request and remain closed until your new Elite details are sent. We will provide a 90% payout for the first 10% of profit generated on the Elite account and an 80% payout for any profit past this point. There is a minimum payout amount of $50USD. Please allow 24-48 hours for us to process your payment.

Funding Talent Elite members are eligible for a one time “fast pass” fee if a max loss violation should occur on your account. This will essentially allow you the ability to “reset” your Elite account with a 25% discounted fee.

Fast Pass

If you have accumulated enough Funded Earning credits and accessed your Elite account you are eligible for a one time “fast pass” fee. This will essentially allow you the ability to “reset” your Elite account with a 25% discounted fee, without having to re-accumulate the Funded Earnings credits. For more information, you can visit the announcements page here.

Scaling Plan

The scaling plan is available to players who access their Elite account. The requirements to be eligible for the scaling plan are as follows:

  • You must use your Elite account for at least 3 months
  • Your demo account balance must be positive (above zero) for 2 out of those 3 months
  • You must have a minimum of 3% growth on at least 2 months out of those 3 months

If you meet all of these conditions, 25% of your total demo account balance will be added to your Elite account.

There is no cap on the maximum amount contributed to your Elite account through the scaling plan.

You can continue to take advantage of the scaling plan if you continue to meet the requirements.

Also please make note to state that this plan is only applicable if you do not violate the account.

For more information you can visit the Scaling Plan information page here.

Flex Aggressive Model

Understanding the rules that apply to Flex Aggressive accounts.

Number of Playing Days

Playing days refer to days in which you enter positions on the demo account.

You must enter at least one position per day for 10 days out of each month. For example, from January 1st – 31st, you must enter a new position on at least 10 separate days. If the 10 day minimum is not met you will not be issued a payout at the end of your playing cycle and your demo account will also be reset to the starting balance. Your demo account will not be reset to the starting balance if no simulated profits were made by the end of the playing cycle. Only executed positions count towards your playing days.

From Sunday to Friday, members should place at least one position on 2 separate playing days. For example, you could place a simulated trade on Monday, Thursday and Friday. You can choose whichever days that best suit you.

For the purpose of our program, a new playing day begins at 12am of the timezone associated with the Funding Talent server. If you sign up midweek, you do not need to enter 2 positions that particular week. This rule only applies on full weeks that you are enrolled with us.

Max Loss Parameters

Teaching risk management is of the utmost importance.

You will have an allowed max daily loss of 10% and no max overall loss on the Flex Aggressive account. This is calculated based on the original demo account balance and is fixed. It does not change day to day.

When calculating max loss, we include all open positions.

This means that if you are on a Flex Aggressive 100K account with a 10% daily max loss, your daily max loss will start at $10K every day at 12:00am in the time zone of the Funding Talent server. If you increase the demo account balance to 105K in a single day, your daily max loss for that specific day will be increased to $15K. Once we reach 12:00am in the time zone of the server, this will reset back to $10K regardless of account balance.

Please note that in the example above, all examples using dollar values refer to fictitious funds.

Any positions open that are “in the red” aka open in a loss and are held over the change of day in the time zone of the Funding Talent server will be carried into the next day.

Below is a table of the available account sizes and their corresponding max daily losses and overall max loss parameters.

If either your daily max loss limit or overall max loss limit is exceeded, your account will become inactive and your playing month will end. You will still be eligible for the leaderboard for your respective block.

Consistency

There are no consistency parameters when trading a Flex Aggressive account.

Strategies and Behaviour

There are no specific strategy behaviour parameters when trading a Flex Aggressive account, as long as no prohibited strategy strategies are used. See below for details.

Talent Bonus (Payout)

Flex Aggressive members are not eligible for a Talent Bonus in the form of a traditional cash payout. Instead, on your Talent Bonus date, 20% of simulated profits are deposited into your Elite account. The objective of this program is to teach patience, to further exemplify the importance of compounding! Once the Elite account is accessed, the member will become eligible for cash payout (see below).

Flex Aggressive Elite Account (Payout Structure & Server)

The Flex Aggressive Elite account offers a 90% payout on the first 10% of simulated profit generated on the account. An 80% payout is offered for all simulated profit past 10%. All Funding Talent Elite accounts will be set up with the Funding Talent Demo server.

You can continue to take advantage of the scaling plan if you continue to meet the requirements.

Also please make note to state that this plan is only applicable if you do not violate the account.

Challenge Model

Understanding the rules that apply to Challenge accounts.

Number of Trading Days

Phase 1 of the Challenge is 30 days in length and Phase 2 of the Challenge is 60 days in length. There is no minimum number of days that you must trade for either phase of the Challenge. In order to pass each phase, the profit target must be met within the duration of the respective phase you are on.

Max Loss Parameters

Risk management is of the upmost importance.

You will have an allowed max daily loss (drawdown) of 5% and an allowed max overall loss (drawdown) of 10%. When calculating max loss, we include all floating losses and profits. All of your max loss parameters are fixed, meaning they do not change everyday.

This means that if you are on a Challenge Model 100K account with a 5% daily max loss, this will start at $5,000 every day at 12:00am in the time zone of the Funding Talent server. If you increase the account balance to 105K in a single day, your daily max loss for that specific day will be increased to $10,000. ($5,000 DD + $5,000 profit), once we reach 12:00am in the time zone of the server, this will reset back to $5,000 regardless of account balance.

Any positions with floating draw down held over the change of day in the time zone of the Funding Talent server will be carried into the next trading day

Below is a table of the available account sizes and their corresponding daily max loss and overall max loss parameters:

Any violation of the max loss parameters on our Elite account will result in ineligibility for further payouts.

Resetting the Challenge

There are no reset fees for the Funding Talent Challenge account. Any reset fee paid will automatically move you to the Funding Talent Flex Classic or Aggressive account. To retry the Challenge after a max loss violation, a new one will have to be purchased again at full price.

Profit Target

Each phase of the Challenge consists of a profit target that must be achieved in order to advance to the next phase. In Phase 1, there is an 8% profit target that must be met to advance to Phase 2 and in Phase 2 there is a 4% profit target that must be met in order to obtain an Elite account.

All trades must be closed in order to complete either phase of the Challenge, meaning that your balance and equity must be equal.

Profit target percentages are based on the account size you are trading on.

Trading Styles

You are allowed to use a mixture of scalping trades, swing trades, etc. There are no rules on trading styles, as long as you are trading according to live market conditions.

Trading Options

You are allowed to trade forex pairs, indices, metals, oils, and cryptocurrencies. Please do not trade anything outside of this list. If you do trade an instrument outside of this list, your account will not be eligible to pass the Challenge.

Losses

As this is a simulated account, you are not responsible (nor is there a penalty) for any losses.

Login Details

Please allow up to 24 hours for your account details to be sent. You are not to change your login details for any reason. Should you change your password or any other details on this account, it will result in immediate termination of the Challenge.

If you would like to delay your start date for any reason, send an email to our support staff and we will accommodate you.

Adding Funds

You may not, at any point in time, update your account balance. This will not be tolerated under any circumstance. This will be flagged and your account with us and will result in immediate termination of the Challenge.

Challenge Elite Account (Payout Structure & Server)

Elite account offers a 90% payout on the first 10% of profit generated on the account. An 80% payout will be applied to any profit past this point. All Funding Talent Elite accounts will be set up with the Funding Talent Demo server.

EAs & Bots

Funding Talent relies on the diversification of risk in order to ensure the company is not overexposed.

1.) The EA does not copy another members strategy. This is to ensure we maintain diversification and hedge our risk. We monitor at all times for this.

2.) The EA must place trades according to live market conditions.

3.) The EA was developed to help with risk management, trade placement, or created based on one’s own strategy.

Members must also trade according to real market conditions. Any trades that take advantage of demo account conditions using trade arbitrage or other disallowed practices are prohibited. You can read more about real market conditions here.

Trading Flex and Challenge Accounts

Funding Talent members who are presently trading a Flex account (subscription based model) may choose to partake in the Funding Talent Challenge as well.

Members can continue to trade and receive payouts on this model, even after successfully completing the Challenge. However, if the resultant Elite account reaches the maximum account size of 300k, the Flex account will need to be put on hold.

Profit Target Not Achieved

If you finish either phase of the Challenge but do not reach the profit target, do not experience a max loss violation and were not profitable, then you will have a one time opportunity to switch to a Flex account at no cost.

Profitable But Did Not Achieve Profit Target

If you finish either phase of the Challenge but do not reach the profit target, do not experience a max loss violation and were profitable, then you will be able to retry the Challenge over from Phase 1 for free. There is no limit to this free retry, as long as your account satisfies the above conditions at the end of either Phase 1 or 2.

In the conditions outlined above, you may instead choose to switch to a Flex account at no cost, but this can only be done once.

The important thing to note here is that you can not retry the Challenge for free if your account was not in profit at the end of your phase.

Refundable Fee

After successful completion of both phases of the Funding Talent Challenge, the sign up fee will be refunded upon the first payout that you receive.

If a max loss violation occurs on the Elite account before the first payout, you will no longer be eligible for the refund.

Switching Models

Should you choose to switch to the Flex model if unsuccessful with the Challenge, you will receive new login details for your Flex account. For example, if you purchased the $25K Challenge, you will receive a $25K Flex account OR if you purchased the $100K Challenge, you will receive a $100K Flex account.

Funding Talent will allow account sizes up to $300K per member per model. If you are already trading a $300K Flex account and participate in the Challenge, you cannot further increase your account size.

Scaling Plan

The requirements to be eligible for the scaling plan are as follows:

  • You must trade for at least 3 months on your elite account
  • You must be profitable for 2 out of those 3 months
  • You must have a minimum of 3% growth on at least 2 months out of those 3 months

If you meet all of these conditions, 25% of your total account balance will be added to your elite account.

Non-Allowed Trading Styles

Unfortunately, demo accounts can often achieve much better quotes (upon executing) and smaller or no slippages compared to live market conditions. Therefore, microscalping techniques are prohibited on all Funding Talent accounts. It is not possible to scalp highly volatile sessions with almost no risk on a live account. If you are a news trader or scalper, please understand that our company will also not tolerate any abuse of stop orders either to enter or exit the trade. Scalping news releases on a live account by a “straddling method” incurs slippages, latency and liquidity issues. We wouldn’t be able to pay you profits if we can’t generate them by legitimate means.

Elite Account Payouts

Members are eligible to request their Elite payout 30 days after they have placed their first trade. For example, if you place your first trade on January 1st, your Elite payout date would be February 1st. If you do not request your payout within 24 hours of your Elite payout date, you would need to wait an additional 30 days to make your payout request. For example, if you place your first trade on January 1st and you opt not to make a withdrawal request within 24 hours of February 1st, your next payout date would be March 1st.

Please send us an email at [email protected] within 24 hours of your payout date to make your withdrawal request. Your request should include your full legal name, country, and Elite account number. For example, if your Elite payout date is on January 2nd, you could send us an email on January 1st, January 2nd, or January 3rd.

All trades must be closed at the time you make your withdrawal request and remain closed until your new Elite details are sent. We will provide a 90% payout for the first 10% of profit generated on the Elite account and an 80% payout for any profit past this point. There is a minimum payout amount of $50USD. Please allow 24-48 hours for us to process your payment.

Beginning August 15th 2021, Funding Talent Elite members will now be eligible for a one time “fast pass” fee if a max loss violation should occur on their account. This will essentially allow members the ability to “reset” their Elite or Challenge account with a 25% discounted fee, without having to completely retake the challenge.
